Can Affiliate Marketing Make You Rich?

I have been getting loads of questions from guys who want to know what is this Amazon stuff I post, and how they can get started... So, expect a long post.

What is this Amazon stuff and how do you make money from it?

You make money by marketing products that are sold on AmazonDotCom (the biggest retail site in the world). The site has products ranging from car spare parts, garden equipment, sex toys, health supplements, DVD movies, PC games, apps, clothes.... everything.

You'll be doing what is called affiliate marketing. In return, you'll get a commission for every product that you sell.

What's the process? Do you just log into Amazon, pick a product and start marketing it? How do you market?

The best way to market Amazon products is using what we call a niche blog... That is a blog that is targeted at a specific audience who have a specific need. Health is a niche. Baseball is a niche. Car repair is a niche.

Within the niches are sub-niches and keywords. Before you start your blog, you should research to find what keywords are available in the niche/sub-niche, how many people are using the keyword to find information on Google, and what level of competition exists for a keyword.

If the keyword has a high search volume (usually above 2400 or 5000) and the competition from other bloggers is low, you just found yourself a niche and you can proceed to buy a domain name and hosting and start your blog.

What happens after you have bought a domain name, hosting, and started a blog?

First, you have to work on creating content for your blog. But not just any content. You need content that uses your keywords (which preferably should be buyer intent keywords) This kind of content is usually product reviews for items in your niche..

So, for instance, if you chose Baseball as your niche, and "best baseball gloves" as your keyword.... You'll be writing an article such as "10 of the best baseball gloves for 2017."

Repeat this process with other keywords in your niche. "best baseball pins under $100""Best muscle relaxing cream for baseball players" etc etc.

You should be able to create at least 10 posts that are lean towards product reviews.

You'll be including Amazon links for the products you list in your content. If someone looking for best baseball gloves comes across your blog, reads the content and sees the recommended products, he/she clicks on the Amazon links, goes and buys the product, and you earn yourself a commission.

But writing content is not the only thing you'll be doing....

You'll also need to optimise your blog for search engines (SEO). You do this mostly by creating links/backlinks/hyperlinks to your blog. This is by far the most important part in being an Amazon affiliate marketer. The more high quality backlinks your blog has, the higher it is ranked on Google {search for "best rollaway beds". I am position one for the keyword.}

Being ranked in the first few positions in Google means that your blog will be getting organic traffic. That is, you don't have to do anything else to force traffic into your site.

If a keyword has a monthly search volume of 5000 and you rank position one for it, it means that a huge part of these 5000 people who need baseball gloves come through your blog first, and you direct them to go and purchase gloves on Amazon. If only 800 of them end up buying gloves on Amazon and you get a commission of $1 for each sale, it means you have earned $800 that month, without having to sell your soul to the devil.

That is the bare backbone of how to be an Amazon Affiliate Marketer.

TL;DR

Identify a niche and buyer intent keyword in the niche. The keywords should have decent monthly search volume and be easy to rank

Create a blog and content for your blog using the keywords you identified

 SEO your blog
